Maybe, I have become a fan of BBQ after lifetime of tasting all the varieties. Wet, dry, hot, mild, spicy, exotic, but mainly the top-secret Southern BBQ sauce.</p> <p><strong>There's something down home about Bar-B-Q.</strong>&nbsp;It's comforting and filling. No wonder there are so many people that absolutely love it and have cook offs to prove how good the recipe might be.<img title="Stop and Go Richmond KY World Famous BBQ picture by Lizette Fitzpatrick" src="http://activerain.comhttp://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/6/8/3/8/2/ar123791823528386.jpg" height="199" alt="Stop and Go Richmond KY World Famous BBQ picture by Lizette Fitzpatrick" width="206"></p> <p><strong><img title="Stop and Go catering" src="http://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/2/1/0/6/8/ar129970191086012.jpg" height="387" alt="Stop and Go catering" width="281"></strong></p> <p><strong>The other day, I finally made it to the Stop and Go on Water Street in Richmond, Kentucky.</strong>&nbsp;I had heard for years that the Bar-B-Q of Robert Miller and Russell Cantrell was legendary.</p> <p>What I didn't know beforehand, was that&nbsp;<strong>the famous sauce was actually two separate recipes.</strong></p> <p><strong>Robert's sauce is used on chicken wings and Russell's sauce is for beef brisket, pulled pork &amp; ribs.</strong></p> <p>As I walked inside the diner,&nbsp;<strong>I was warmly greeted</strong>&nbsp;at the counter by Christine Chadwell, cashier.</p> <p>Both owners, Russell and Robert were busy cooking but you could easily tell&nbsp;<strong>they were the heartbeat of the Stop and Go, winners of the 2009 Minority Business of the Year from The Chamber of Commerce.</strong></p> <p><img title="Russell Cantrell, Stop and Go Richmond KY World Famous BBQ picture by Lizette Fitzpatrick" src="http://activerain.comhttp://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/9/2/9/2/5/ar123791869552929.jpg" height="223" alt="Russell Cantrell, Stop and Go Richmond KY World Famous BBQ picture by Lizette Fitzpatrick" width="306">As I settled in to do a taste test, I noticed how busy the place was. There were three patrons at the counter but&nbsp;lots of folks would stop to pick up food...then go!</p> <p><img title="Katie Brenner, Mikey Valentine &amp; Amanda Sowers-Durbin, Stop and Go Richmond KY World Famous BBQ picture by Lizette Fitzpatrick" src="http://activerain.comhttp://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/5/1/0/9/0/ar123791909015.jpg" height="128" alt="Katie Brenner, Mikey Valentine &amp; Amanda Sowers-Durbin, Stop and Go Richmond KY World Famous BBQ picture by Lizette Fitzpatrick" width="124"></p> <p><strong>My tasty review included BBQ beef brisket, pulled pork, ribs, chicken wings, cole slaw, potato salad and baked beans</strong>.</p> <p><strong>Russell uses his secret recipe on the ribs, pulled pork and brisket.</strong>&nbsp;It was my first time to eat beef brisket and he knew I was going to love it!</p> <p>The pulled pork, brisket&nbsp;and ribs had just the right amount of sauce and flavor after marinating overnight and&nbsp;<strong>smoked up to 10 hours over hickory, apple and pecan wood before grilling.</strong>&nbsp;<em>It was clearly some of the best BBQ&nbsp;I have ever tasted.</em></p> <p><img title="Robert Miller, Stop and Go Richmond KY World Famous BBQ picture by Lizette Fitzpatrick" src="http://activerain.comhttp://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/9/9/8/2/8/ar123791886182899.jpg" height="324" alt="Robert Miller, Stop and Go Richmond KY World Famous BBQ picture by Lizette Fitzpatrick" width="288"></p> <p>Next up was&nbsp;<strong>Robert's chicken wings</strong>&nbsp;in his secret sauce. Amazing taste and the wings would surely be something to disappear first off the table at a party.</p> <p><strong>By now it was hard to pick a favorite.</strong>&nbsp;Robert also prepares the baked beans and gives them some extra seasonings.</p> <p><strong>The cole slaw was creamy</strong>&nbsp;and had just the right ingredients. Maybe, I have become a fan of BBQ after lifetime of tasting all the varieties. Wet, dry, hot, mild, spicy, exotic, but mainly the top-secret Southern BBQ sauce.</p> <p><strong>There's something down home about Bar-B-Q.</strong> It's comforting and filling. Amazing taste and the wings would surely be something to disappear first off the table at a party.</p> <p><strong>By now it was hard to pick a favorite.</strong> Robert also prepares the baked beans and gives them some extra seasonings.</p> <p><strong>The cole slaw was creamy</strong> and had just the right ingredients. The <strong>KHC Home Buyer Tax Credit</strong> is just the thing they need to see great savings on their yearly IRS tax returns.</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle"><strong>KHC Home Buyer Tax Credit</strong> is available through Mortgage Credit Certificates (MCC), which&nbsp;reduce the amount of federal income tax you pay, giving you more available income to qualify for a mortgage loan.&nbsp; MCCs are NOT mortgages.&nbsp; They are tax credits that put extra cash in your pocket each month, so you can more easily afford a house payment.&nbsp; That means fewer tax dollars will be withheld from your regular paycheck, increasing your take-home pay.&nbsp;</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle"><br><img title="KHC Home Buyer Tax Credit" src="http://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/3/4/7/1/8/ar133124113281743.jpg" height="224" alt="KHC Home Buyer Tax Credit" width="300">The federal government allows every homeowner an income tax deduction for all the interest paid each year on a mortgage loan.&nbsp;</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle">But an MCC gives you a&nbsp;<strong>tax credit</strong>&nbsp;of 25 percent (not to exceed $2,000).&nbsp;</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle">You can still deduct the remaining 75 percent interest on your income taxes.&nbsp;</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle">A tax credit is not the same as a tax deduction.&nbsp; A tax deduction reduces the portion of your income that is taxed, so you pay less.&nbsp;</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle">&nbsp;</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle">A tax credit is a direct, dollar for dollar reduction in the total tax you owe.&nbsp;</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle">The MCC is effective for the life of the loan as long as you live in the home.&nbsp; You must occupy the property.</p> <p class="normalparagraphstyle">It cannot be used for business, commercial, or rental purposes.&nbsp;</p> <p class="subheading">Applicants need a sales contract with a legal description of the property, a $500 MCC fee, and copies of federal income tax returns for the past three years.</p> <h3 class="subheading">How to Apply?</h3> <p class="normalparagraphstyle">Applications for<strong> KHC Home Buyer Tax Credit</strong> are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis by a statewide network of local lenders.&nbsp; MCCs are available with FHA, VA, RHS, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac Conventional 30-year mortgages at a fixed-rate.&nbsp; MCCs cannot be used with KHC&rsquo;s Mortgage Revenue Bond program, but may be used with KHC&rsquo;s GNMA Secondary Market Program.&nbsp;
