While talking to a potential seller the other day I had a brainstorm. We are always wondering just what sets us apart from other agents.
What would be a deciding factor that a client might pick one agent from another?
It might not be that I could stick a sign in the front yard, I could have an open house or that I could put a picture in a newspaper or magazine.
What sells your property these days is complete Internet presence. I'm not talking about just the local MLS. That's a start, but now I can tell clients that they will be listed on over 200 websites. I add more each day. I spend hours and hours researching how to best sell a property on the Internet.
I now tell them"Google My Name"! I know that when they do they will see me on over 3 solid pages or more.
Next, they can Google whatever agent they were thinking about using. Need I say more?
These days it's all about the Internet.
Make sure you aren't wasting any time in marketing your property.
Google for the best agent!!!
I have "google me" on the back of my business cards and on the post cards I send out. I explain how over 80% of buyers start their search on the internet, basically how important of a marketing tool it is and then close with why it is important to have your name splashed everywhere. "I go where the buyers go, do they?" is my closing line.
It has been pretty effective!

I'm finding myself FINALLY on the internet. My name isn't very popular but there are a couple famous people in academia and now in xtreme sports and acting with my name...so when you googled my first AND last names, you'd get one of them with someone they collaborated with... now I'm one of the first Podgursky's found..,. plus with my local posts etc... I'm getting my name on lots of important search terms!

Lizette, Great blog, I like the cartoon that you added, it seems like "genie" when it started that t.v. show, I am with you about internet presence.
This is a great idea. Everyone loves to google...I can't wait to pu that on my card..it would also work well for expireds...you could ask them to google their house address and see what comes up...I have done that many times comparing it to homes that I have listed...

It helps to have a unique name too :) Not a whole lot ofo Lizette Fitzpatricks, or Lexa Montierth's out there. Everytime I google my own name I love to see things like active rain and zillow pop up!

Barbara - I am an artist but I had anther artist do it for me. It's my logo that I use on everything. It is very recognized locally. I have only recently put my real picture in a few places.

That is a good post and I do tell people I post the listing on multiple sites.I did not think there were over 25 sites. I also ask them to google their address, after I list their home and email some posts of their listing from different sites.
