Showing Houses in the April...Snow???

Normal Richmond, Kentucky day...showing some houses to my out of town clients. It's a nice family from Maryland and it's their first time here. I apologize about how cold it has become. Last week was in the 70's. They even ask me if it ever snows? Are there snakes?? Does it get humid in the summer?

By the third house it starts snowing...sideways...like a blinding snow storm!!! Can you believe it is REALLY coming down !

At one point the husband had to get out of the car to shake off a street sign just so we can see where to go! It was pretty funny! Hmmmmm...just where is Hunter Rd? He gets out his GPS to help out. I haven't bought one yet. We figure out we had turned on the right road but it should say Hunter Lane on the MLS. All this in a blinding April snow storm!

One of my earlier blogs I talked about all the winters we have here. This one was a WHOPPER of freezing cold, gloomy day, chilled to the bone YUCK! I dropped off my clients after we stopped to regroup in the morning. I guess I can't convince them that it is normally nice here! LOL Steak n Shake is looking pretty good about now...cause I'm starving and want to get to my warm house. Back in on the computer to plan tomorrow and another tour in Lexington. Ahhhhh.....whadda Realtor life HUH?

Refreshing story, but I wouldn't worry about the couple from Maryland, it gets really bad there too at odd times. I am from D.C. but now live in Texas around the DFW area, where they are predicting snow flurries on Easter day. You are a good writer and take a pretty mean photo.

If you're thinking of getting away from the cold weather and snow - move to Florida!  We've got great weather and lots of homes for sale.  It's a buyer's market and a great time to buy.  If you need to place your real estate license in Florida - my company has a Real Estate School, Referral Network, and full service real estate offices in 6 different areas of Florida.  www.ElizabethRuvo.com - All Florida Realty Services, Inc.

We had an april fool's storm in NH as well.  I had to show houses the next day -- I couldn't believe how many people didn't clear the walkways and the steps -- it was a real challenge not to fall.   My clients didn't have on boots so they were misrable -- to say the least - they didn't like the experience or the house.

Jake: I don't blame you a bit for rubbing it in about Scottsdale. I used to live out there and I can't wait to be spending my winters there again!

Joan: I feel your pain!

Elizabeth: Florida is on my maybe-to-do list after my Scottsdale condo. Thanks for the offer!

Grant: Thanks for the compliments...;~)

Maurice: I feel your pain also! lol

Same thing happened to me this week with the snow, so it was entertaining to read about your experience. But, I do have to say that I always seem to get compliments on my dedication when I'm showing homes to out of state clients during blizzards here in Kansas. We are used to it, but to them, we are really doing our job!

I'll have to remember this post when I'm out in the 110-degree summer days in Las Vegas. Maybe you can get them a windshield scraper as part of their closing gift? They'll definitely remember you every time they see it. :)

Kelvi: I'm getting everything ready to go back out with those clients this morning. Every cute little bud on my flowers outside is frozen. Soon I will be too! Surely all my dedication shines through my chilled exterior! lol

John: That's a most excellent idea! You are a marketing genius!!

Lyzette, What is a little snow?  Some people, I don't know why love it, the more the merrier.  Look at everyone who lives in Michigan, they are snow lovers.  I am sure on of them will move to your area, and buy in your snow belt.  Sound like a plan?  With the job market changing, hey why not?  Good post as usual.

BoB: I'm all for the Michigan poeple to move in and buy houses from me!

Ray: Snow probably pretty normal for you this time of year. At least when it snows there there is something fun to do like ski! Here we just complain about it!

Lizette--So that's where MN's snow ended up this year! We had only a few late season snows but are making up for it now with a cold snap. It is never fun to have to show homes in the snow but what can you do? Summer is coming soon...At least on the calendar. Stay WARM!!

Teri, I just heard last night that this cold spell is the coldest on record for this area. It's sad cause all the blooming plants and trees will have to start over. I'm glad it's Easter and I am not doing an open house today. I plan to stay warm!

Ben, I thought we might be doing better but now it will be cold again this weekend! YUcK! This record 4 day cold spell also destroyed up to 80% of our apple and peach production in Kentucky. I read that last night. I want my 70's too!

I'm sitting at my desk looking out the window here in Port St. Lucie, Florida and the sky is blue, there's a slight breeze and it's 84%!

If you have buyers who have had it and are ready to move to Florida, I've got 80 agents here who would love your referral.  We've got plenty of houses on the market and the buyers are finding some great deals right now.  Of course, you might want to accompany them down so you can get in some beach time!

We are supposed to get 2 inches tomorrow in Kansas City.

We are going to get a very serious Spring Fever when this all stops.

I thought there was supposed to be a global warming problem?

Ann, Elizabeth, Anton & Robert...I think we need to talk to some higher-ups to get this crazy weather all straightened out. I can't take too much more!
