Buzzards Having A Party On Your Roof? Call 911

buzzardsJust why would buzzards congregate on your roof? I had to ponder this as I drove by this house today while on my Realtor tour.

I don't think I have ever seen buzzards just parked on top of a house in a residential neighborhood in town.

My first thought was someone might be dead inside. Were they watching some small animal in the yard? Maybe a dead one? Isn't that why they show up? They smell death?

These guys were huge and they stayed there while we toured a house a few doors down. I didn't see any fly away.

Maybe, I should have knocked on the door. If no answer ...called 911.

Wow, those puppies are big! Wonder what was up with that property. You were certainly right about that being unusual... scavengers hanging around can only mean trouble for something or someone.

Carolyn - I've lived here a long time and I've never seen them sitting on a house.

Marie - Yes! I was thinking like the "BIRDS" That movie scared the daylights out of me when I was little.

Maybe they were just waiting for a thermal to ride up?  I have rarely seen them on a roof, Only once and it was a single bird.  But they do seem to hang out together, especially at night, but usually in trees
