4th Of July Celebration On The Kentucky River

Happy 4th of July!

Hope all my friends and clients are having a fabulous start of the weekend!

I was out last night enjoying some fireworks at Boonesborough State Park. It was trying to sprinkle some rain but we saw the fireworks that were fabulous! Interesting because I had not even heard that there were going to be fireworks there. Not advertised anywhere I could see. It's a yearly event and I have never been? Hmmmm!

Car after car arrived with loads of people to see the show that echoed loudly in the Kentucky River valley. It was enough noise to bring up Daniel Boone from the grave.

Even though rain has been predicted off and on, I plan to go back to the Kentucky River tonight off of exit 99 on I-75. Riptides between the two bridges will be the festive place to hang out with good friends, a band, some yummy shrimp boil and championship cornhole games. Later we will get to see more Kentucky River fireworks if the rain stays away. I have been watching the radar all day to be sure of success!

Have a fun weekend! Be careful with those fireworks!

We tried to celebrate CANADA DAY on July 1st, but the weather here has been damp and windy, so today, we celebrate both CANADA DAY & INDEPENDENCE DAY...  As a former American that celebrates both day, I think that is GREAT!!  Enjoy the day, have a WONDERFUL PARTY AND CELEBRATTION....  Look to the NorthWest for "OUR FIREWORKS"  LOL..

The last fireworks display I saw in Kentucky 5 years ago was on the Kentucky River in Frankfort. It was a pretty neat experience.

Lizette, sounds like a whole lot of fun!  I unfortunately will miss out on the good fireworks displays this year due to a newborn and being out of town.  Oh well!  There is always next year!

Hey,  friend.    Just saw some fireworks myself at one of Sevier County's lakes.    I guess Chanel stayed at home.   Diva Dogs don't like fireworks as you know!

Lizette, I hope the weather held out for you, we had rain on and off as well...but a spectacular show televised from NYC.

Lizette, sounds great!

We had a great July 3rd here, and I was lucky enough to be in a positon to see 2 shows that night, but the 4th was dank and dreary... Still not enough rain to stop the show... and the rest of the weekend seems to be Rain Rain and more Rain.

so, here I am, playing in the Rain!

Have a great weekend

Ann-Marie- I was looking north to see your firworks but I guess it was too cloudy. I bet they were beautiful!

Sean- I haven't been to that one either. We goot pretty soggy watching the one last night at the river.

Jeremy - With a newborn to enjoy who needs fireworks! Congratulations!

Connie - Yes, the little diva stayed home and was safe under the bed. She was rubbing her sleepy eyes when I got home. She was very happy I forgot to take her! Hope you had fun!

Carole - Ohhh...I can just imagine what the NYC fireworks must be like. WE got a little wet but the show was really good and lasted a long time. We were surprised it was so nice.

Robert - We had the same here. I know I shouldn't complain because last year the drought was horrible. I welcome the rain anytime now. All my flowers and trees are loving it.

Here in the DC area the fireworks on the Mall attract thousands - it is a traffic mess.  We prefer those in our local area - back home in 15 minutes,  Karen

Karen - I can't blame you. The two I watched were away from the main event too. Our huge display is at Gibson Bay and the traffic afterwards is crazy! I bet the one on the Mall is fabulous!
