Berea Rain Barrel Festival - Berea Kentucky

Berea Rain Barrel Festival - Berea Kentucky

Last year's drought in Central Kentucky really did a number on some of my trees and shrubs.

Even if you did get to water them, the chlorinated stuff you get out of the end of the water hose didn't help plants grow...merely kept them alive. A rain barrel is the answer to the watering problem. Keep your own rain water...it's free!

Not only will it save you money, but when there are watering restrictions you will be able to ignore them!

In one of last year's newsletters, I wrote about installing a rain barrel  on your house. Here's another chance for you to get one this year.

The 2008 Berea Rain Festival  on April 26 from 11am - 4pm will have 55 hand painted rain barrels by Kentucky artists for sale in a silent auction. Unpainted rain barrels will be sold also for $55.

How to make a rain barrel.

Don't miss out on the Berea Rain Barrel Festival in Berea Kentucky!

Love the rain barrels painted by artists!  What fun.  Now what could I do here in the mountains of NC???  Maybe stills??  Thanks for the very enjoyable post.

Lizette--Rain barrels are becoming popular all over the US. What a great way to reuse what nature gives us!

Susie - I bet people would pay a lot of $$$ for some painted on stills. Now THAT would be priceless!

Teri - I was thinking of buying one last year then it slipped my mind. I would have loved to have watered my garden during our drought last summer.
