Keep Out Cold Drafts! Install Electric Switch Insulation

Keep Out Cold Drafts! Install Electric Switch Insulation

Electric Switch Sealers

I've been working on my house all year to weatherproof so I can save on my heating and A/C bills. One small improvement has been the installation of electric switch insulation on the outside walls to keep any air from coming in. There are 6 in a package  for about $1.58 at Lowe's.

Light Plate InsulationIt's really a small job that will just take a screwdriver and a little time. I started a the front door light switch and worked my way around until I had the first floor completed.

Some boxes in the wall had some space in between the drywall and box, so I stuffed some insulation in there also.

I have been keeping track of my electric bill to see if I can keep it lower over the past year. So far so good. Last winter was the coldest one I remember and my bill didn't skyrocket.

I also have caulked and filled with foam any cracks around the outside doors and fixtures.

Re-worked insulation around my door frames. Every small thing you can do will save you money on your bill. It's not too late to start weatherproofing right now. I have a feeling it will be a long cold winter this year!

If you don't have time to weatherproof your present home and would rather find a new one... check out these new listings in Lexington KY!
