Magnificent Shelf Cloud Rainbow In Kentucky
Sometimes your work day can change in an instant. So....I'm on the phone with a client/ friend and I hear the severe weather siren go off.
My dog, Chanel is urgently barking for me to go to the basement. She is already headed that way, knowing the drill. "Come on Mom!", she barks as she keeps looking back at me.
Still on the phone...I'm wondering what might be brewing outside and step out onto the front porch to see.
From the North is this massive storm with amazing shelf cloud that cover the whole sky starting from the Northwest to the southeast like a gothic rainbow. Shades of gray.
I hurry to get off the phone so I can snap a few pics before I get blown to Kansas.
This cloud was the most amazing cloud I have ever seen! They completely covered the sky in front of the storm.

Looks like "fallen skys" from TBS... a little bit science fiction like. Very cool photos.
Tammy - It sure made for an interesting morning!
So very strange! Glad the storm was not very bad. But cool photos.
Lizette: So this is what we have to look forward to seeing when we move to Kentucky? I guess having a basement to head to for storms might be a good thing to look for. The search for housing starts the end of August.
Lizette, wow, that is very scary looking! I have never seen anything quite like that... glad you and the pooch were safe, and glad you were brave enough to go out and get us those shots!
These are beautifully expressive shots! Thanks for sharing them with your friends on Fraiche Aire!
Lizette - Amazing photographs. I did not know that those clouds were called shelf clouds.
wow so nice I have never seen those ever.
