The Kentucky rain is starting to get on my nerves! Don't take me wrong...I do like the rain normally.
The last week or so has been a misery and today the tornado warning was my alarm clock bright and early.
It hasn't been the first alarm we have had in the past week or so. It's like crying wolf so many times and nothing happens. Even my dog runs to the basement automatically when she hears the alarm go off.
Now,
I just keep everything I think is vital to living in the basement just in case.
Tonight the rain is coming down like a monsoon and the creek behind my house is almost as high as I have ever seen it.
Almost up to the newly mulched trees. It has a way to go to be in the basement.
I'm praying that it will finally slow a bit and not get in.
Seriously thinking about a new houseboat office in the backyard.
What a misery a flood could be!

They label it global warming. I didn't normally concern myself with the knowledge that Chicago is built on a swamp. Maybe you could buy a tank of helium and fill water balloons.
You sure do have a rising creek back there. We sure needed that rain here in Texas last week. We had fires that burned out of control over a week and some are still buring . they almost have it contained but thats after over a million acres was charred and many many homes destroyed, I'm not far from that area and it was and still is a tragedy. Sp send some rain our way we could use a lot more !! Good luck, sleep with your water wings on !
It's been raining more since I wrote this tonight. I think the level is the highest I have ever seen it.
Lizette, I hope you are ok. I am thinking about all of you who are in the path of this latest storm. Stay safe and dry. And that goes for the pooch too!
Eeek, not totally sure I'd like to see that in my back yard! I hope the rain stops and the waters recede soon. Stay safe!
Doesn't seem like your little creek at all! What is the name of that river? Hoping May is better for all of us. I have never seen or heard more hail than we had here on Wednesday night. A Long Night.
Lizette - Please send some of that rain this way. Our grass is starting to turn yellow because it's been sooo hot out and No rain.
