Got Bed Bugs? Woman Burns Down House To Get Them Out!

Bed BugOK....I'm starting to get alarmed when I read stories about bed bugs.

It almost makes me afraid to travel and unpack my bags in a hotel.

Here is a story I heard the other day of a woman that tried to take care of the bugs by herself. What happened next got a little bit crazy...

So you are thinking of traveling and staying in a hotel? Here's how to handle checking out the room for tell tale signs of bed bugs.

Hotel Bed Bug

Now that I have you itching and wondering if they are crawling on you. Be sure to bookmark the next link to your favorites for future use. Next time you want to book a hotel check to see if there has been a report of bed bugs.

They might have checked in...but didn't check out.

P.S. You might not want to be buying used furniture at that next yard sale. Hmmmmm....

That is very scary and I would hate to have these critters around my home!

Bugs usually don't bother me, but cockroaches and bedbugs give me the willies.  I have encountered cockroaches in foreign hotels, but have never taken them home with me.

I think you do have to check the beds and furniture before settling in.  It reminds me of a book I read many years ago  --  it was either The L-shaped Room or The Room at the Top.  The protagonist needed to prove to his/her landlord that there were bedbugs in the room.  The solution was to wet a bar of soap and put it on the bug.  This was, of course, before cell phones with cameras.

This sounds like the owner went to the extreme to resolve the problem. I will think twice when making a hotel choice next time i travel.

I have a trip planned soon. I held my breath that it didn't have a bed bug.

I was laying awake in a hotel bed just four nights ago, thinking about the possibility of taking bed bugs home. Seem to be bug free so far. Yuck!

This issue sure has received a lot of publicity lately.  I'm sure someone will come up with a product to eliminate them, but in the mean time who knows the answer.

I was a away for a few days on Cape Cod. We did check the bed thoroughly - tossed and turned for an extra half hour before falling asleep thinking about the potential of such buggies.

I know that heat is one of the best treatments but it takes more than room temperature of 95. Great sites for identifying bed bugs and the registry.

Lizette - I hate staying in hotels, cheap or expensive because of germs and bugs.  I always bring a can of lysol.

I am getting kind of freaked too. Everything I read makes them sound expensive and sleeping with 100 mosquitoes.

Steven, I was OK with it until I saw you might be freaked. You need to be figuring out how we are going to battle this if we get them. You are my bug expert! I'm kinda worried now.

Bed bugs scare me because Bed bug bites are often very itchy. You may experience a burning sensation on the skin several days after you’ve been bitten. bed bug exterminators in ct is the best way to get rid of bed bugs.
