It's been some time since I have been at the Farmers Market in the middle of downtown Lexington KY, but I have to say that it is bigger and better than I can remember.
In fact the new Fifth Third Pavilion is an awesome place to have the weekly Saturday event from 7:00AM - 3:00PM.
Not just vegetables and fruits here. There were artists with jewelry, pottery and paintings.
I particularly enjoyed all the tables that had taste samples of cheeses, dips, BBQ, desserts, olive oil, breads, candy and meats.
Most everything that I tasted, I bought some to take home or ate on the spot.
In fact now I can't wait to go back and get more. I love finding new things! I was like a kid in the candy store!
One of the fun booths set up at the Farmers Market was one that made smoothies but done by peddling stationary bikes. It worked the blender till your smoothie was done. Now that was new to me!
There is a picture below of kids waiting to have a turn at making a drink. Hey that's a good way to get your kids to eat fruits!

The colorful array of veggies made me actually buy some of this okra. I found out how to fry it up by asking my Facebook friends to help me. They all had different recipes.

This little lady made hand painted gourds and we did buy one of the ones that looks like an apple.

Lizette - I LOVE going to the Farmer's Market and it looks like this one tops everything I've been to.
Lizette--Great photos...those apple gourds are very cute!
I think downtown Lexington just got better looking with all the cool booth displays.
Hi Lizette, How did the Okra come out? I haven't had that in years. Love all the pictures, what are the purple looking peppers?
Love the photos!
... I have been known to pull over to many a Farmer's Market on my daily journeys !!!
I just LOVE the 'fresh' difference that these markets provide !
Deelishuss !!!!
I was there a few years ago and it demands taking some veggies home even if it is a 2.5 hour ride home. Wasn't there for the market, just a perk.
