Keeping track of the belongings inside your home can seem like a daunting task, but creating an inventory is important for purchasing insurance and coping with those events that we often don’t want to think about – home fires, break-ins, etc. However, What You Own, a program by M-One Studio makes it super easy to keep track of their home’s belongings. Users can build an inventory organized by room and can even add receipts and pictures. Once built, homeowners can quickly see how much it would cost to replace their belongings.

What You Own is free to use and is compatible with Windows and Mac systems. Download Here.

Lizette--I need to do this too! When my son left for college last week we had to do an inventory for his renter's insurance. So simple to take a few photos and list everything when there is only one room. Using a system is very useful!

I saw another post about a similar service earlier this week.  Guess God's trying to tell me that as I move next month, I should inventory....

Great idea!    Maybe a lot of work up front,  but I bet it will be worth the effort.

Lizette, home inventorying has to be one of the last things people think about doing but it is so important for insurance purposes and also in case of a casualty like a fire.

Lizette - We'll it beats the old video room to room, drawer to drawer, closet to closet. Looks like a fine program.

I will get started on mine soon too. It does sound like a BIG task. I guess room by room it will eventually get done.
