I'm always into re-inventing myself all the time. I take the time to make adjustments, move things around or throw out what doesn't work anymore.
I've been guilty of focusing upon the hard work instead of focusing on the love of the work. That had to change.
While I was pondering this. I started taking the time to get back in touch with the people that are important to me. When you get wrapped up in your work, you don't take time to "see the people". Sure I show houses and go to meetings, but leisurely lunches and dinners for fun with friends usually get put on the back burner.
Somewhere along your flight path, opportunities materialize to make you more aware of where you are and what you should be doing.
It's been a busy time for me lately since I re-discovered being more true to who I am.
Back last December, I was looking for a program to use for contact management. Up to then all the systems I had experimented with were boring to use and seemed mechanical. Clients don't respond to automated emails. Nor do they open e-cards because of viruses. Duh....I don't either!
Out of the blue, I fell into Send Out Cards after making a comment on a friend's Facebook page late one night. Life as I knew it has changed forever. Using this one tool in my business changed everything! This has been snowballing like crazy now.
In two months time, I have just been focusing on the love of my work .No longer is it a pain to send out cards or stay in touch with clients. Also, just because it's been noticed by the ones on the receiving end, I have now a large group of business professionals that want to do this too. Plus the new clients!
The referrals and connections that have happened since this started 2 months ago is amazing! Now it's a team of creative minds instead of just my mind.
This "think tank of people" has been fantastic for business. I have plenty closings scheduled and lots of new clients looking at homes. I did say that last year was my best ever... but in the first quarter of 2010, I will be already up to 3/4 of 2009 totals. It's all happening because I am focusing on my love of my work.
I know many of my subscribers have wondered where I have been. There are only so many hours in the day. The blog was the last thing in my day I tried to get to... but couldn't.
My assistant and I have been working non-stop to keep up with all the new business this year. Plus installing new computers in the office. Now, I hope to post more again.
I have been writing... but it's been in cards! LOL What a pleasure that is.
I guess great ideas and people come into our lives when we are ready.
Be aware of ideas that sudden cross your path, they may have been sent to you to use so you can focus on the love of your work too!

Any refrence to Send Out Cards is not a paid testimonial. In fact I pay them so I can use their service! Imagine that!

Leslie - You are so sweet! You are my inspiration too!
You are the best at re-invention I ever met. Wish I had the strength and guts you demonstrate every day! 2010 is your year, dear friend.
Lizette,
Doing what it takes to keep things moving along is what it is all about. Congrats on your way of handling it.
Hi Lizette. Good for you!
Quite a positivie review of send out cards too...
Thanks for sharing,
Ken
Lizet we got back to our mailing program as well with both an automatic one and a personalized handwritten one. It has generated some business.
Lizette,
I'm happy to read this blog and I wish to have the same real estate market and movement that you are having these days, keep it great and in touch, best wishes !
I'm watching the video now.. I'm going to try sending it out for Vday to my database! Thanks for sharing Lizette!
Lizette - We will be around when you have time for us. Until then, sending out cards is a GREAT idea, as you know. Its all about what is turning around business. If you are seeing more success with cards at this time, then continue doing it. You have enough history with blogging that you really just need to maintain it at this point.
I am finding that by adding things on I have to let other things go. This will be a year of decisions on what has been beneficial and what gets dumped.
But Lizette...
I really do hate work. It's too much like work :)
TLW...ROAR!
But Lizette...
It doesn't matte what I do, I still hate work. It's too much like work :)
TLW...ROAR!
Stupid...
Wookie 500's. I'll take that extra 25 points. I normally delete doubles. But my Wookie patience is taxed :)
TLW...ROAR!

Hi Lizette,
I am also glad to hear that business is going so well for you! But I am happy to hear that you are taking time for yourself, you need too so you can keep loving what you are doing!
I am going to check out the site too. Thanks for the inspiration
your friend in Charlottesville Virginia!
Lizette - I'm going to look more closely into this. It sounds like a great oppurtunity. Both to improve business and start another one, it sounds like A pyramid type business, yes?
Very motivating post! Recently one of my newer agents left the firm to do something she loves which wasn't real estate. I encouraged her to go for the heart on her decision
