Kevin Skinner From Kentucky Wins America's Got Talent
It's good to see America still has a heart and wants an underdog to be a winner. Kevin Skinner of Kentucky showed everyone how a simple thought becomes something big on America's Got Talent.
To headline in Las Vegas after just playing his guitar and singing on a front porch in Kentucky is magical!

I've watched America's Got Talent all season and the first time he came on stage, David Hasslehoff asked him what he did for a living.
"Chicken Catcher", he replied.
That broke everyone up! The judges clearly didn't expect what came next. The way he sang the song touched everyone that heard it.
Since that day, Kevin Skinner has had a quiet confidence but looked like he didn't actually think he could win against such great competition. I had my doubts too!
I love what he accomplished and I'm proud he is from Kentucky.
All of the finalists on America's Got Talent were great this year. This may have been the best season yet.
Here's wishing Kevin Skinner the best of luck and a fabulous career starting in Las Vegas.
All of us in Kentucky are wishing you the best!

Kevin Skinner From Kentucky Wins America's Got Talent!

I'm so happy he won as well ! From the moment he took to the stage, we hoped that he could make it through to the end. What a smile!
I only seen a couple episodes of that show, but that guy was definitely the shocker of the group. He sure seemed like a down to earth guy so its nice to see him win.
Susan - Kevin Skinner's smile could break your heart when he won!
Robert - I was totally shocked that everyone voted him through. He wasn't the best singer... but the best he could be.
I was certain Barbara Padilla had it locked up even though she belongs in NYC not Las Vegas. Both overcame tremendous adversity to be able to stand on that stage. Like you, I was shocked to see him win. But, I wish him the best of luck.
I was very surprised he won. While I am glad for him, I thought Barabara Padilla was the superior talent.
A very humble man, he'll go far. Barabara has better talent but this is not her stage, she has bigger places to be!
I FELL ASLEEP DURING SHOW. NOW I KNOW WHO WON.
may success not change him.
may he always be the "chicken catcher"
So, do you think this show will outdo American Idol in the ratings next year?
I found the chicken catcher to be a quite compelling contestant and this year, more interesting than American Idol.
I have never seen that program, and I have to admit I have never watched American Idol. I do admire anyone who gets up in from of millions on TV and does not have a fear of failure. It's a great object lesson.
Personally, I was rooting for the Texas Tenors...but, Im happy that Kevin won.
Lizette: Thank you for posting this. I watched the show last night … I knew deep inside my gut that he would win … it is so inspiring to all … live the dream!
I meant to watch and forgot, since my son was visiting me. I was impressed with all the finalists and really thought Kevin was a long shot to win. As the female judge (I forgot her name) said last time, he doesn't have the best voice but neither did Johnny Cash or many others before him. I'm really happy for him because I think it will totally change his life (hopefully, if he does it right) for the better.
Lizette - I never really watched the show before this year...Kevin Skinner is a good part of the reason I watched! From the moment I first saw him sign in the auditions, he inspired everyone and brought hope to us all. America rooted for him the whole way through!
There were so many talented performers this year! I had too many favorites to root for anyone. You couldn't help but be touched by the personal stories of Barbara Padilla and Kevin Skinner. I was thoroughly entertained!
What a very cool moment! Yeah for the underdog!
Hooray for the little man. I was floored the first time I saw him perform at the auditions. My wife is even more excited as she was born in the same town.
I was hooked on America's Got Talent this year. There were so many great acts in the finals. I really thought Barbara Padilla had it in the bag, but she's going to be a star no matter what the outcome of the show. Kevin is truly the perfect example of rags to riches by living out his dream. Very likeable guy
I am an idol fan and have never watched this but I always love to hear about an underdog who wins. I think I'll have to check this show out based on others comments.
Lizette - I never watched the show, but I love when any under dog wins. P.S. I love the new pic!
You don't have to be the best or even have great talent to win. I have a laundry list to prove my point. The question people have to ask is will people pick me?
My family and I watch this every season. This was a tough one because there were a lot of great acts going into the finals. Easily 5 or 6 of them could have one. Kevin was very 'down to earth' and we wish him all the best!
I will say that the "Chicken Catcher" from KY. certainly captured the heart of America when he first came out on stage. The final two both deserved to win and I know that Kevin Skinner will have a good career in Vegas and for a long time.
I thought he was great his very first audition (probably his best to be honest). It is nice to see someone deserving win.
Being from Kentucky myself and from a small town like Kevin, I have shocked myself as a Realtor! I had nothing until I divorced and brought my 2 lovely Daughters to Myrtle Beach South Carolina! I had lived in the Mayfield KY area for about a year and certainly can say I am very proud of Kevin Skinner!
