Boone Tavern Berea KY - Historic Hotel and Restaurant
That's a lot of work. I felt worn out just reading through all of the upgrades. It's good to see people taking thee time to preserve the old while incorporating the new. BTW, Pork Chops the Tricky Way sounds tempting. I'd definitely have to check this out.
Erik - I was kind of shocked after I walked inside the lobby to take pictures. I remember Boone Tavern from the old days. It was sparkling and very uptown. Amazing what they have done here. I'd like to try those pork chops.
There spoon bread is amazing. It has been a L O N G time since I went there.
Lizette - when I lived in the area I always thought this was a pretty good place, although I found it just a bit strange that a tavern in a dry town can't serve spirits with the meal.
Lizette, What a beautiful historic hotel. Awesome job to add to your collection of blogs... Looks like that was a lot of work.
Lizette - This looks like a wonderful place to stay. Very cozy.
Lizette,
It does look wonderful....
Thanks for sharing,
Ann
Missy - You are RIGHT! The spoonbread is probably what Boone Tavernis most famous for. Yummy stuff! Now there is a Spoonbread Festival in Berea KY.
Mike - It always gets voted out. I wish it would happen so the restaurants could flourish and people wouldn't have to go out of town for dinner.
Hi June! It actually was a lot of fun to write. I loved taking the pictures. Berea KY was where I was born so it has a place in my heart.
John - It's exactly that kind of place. Time moves a little slower in Boone Tavern. But that's a good thing.
Ann - It was a pleasure to study and write about this one. Thanks for stopping by.
