When Life Gets You Down...Get a Chicken.

Chicken VideoI ran across this chicken video in the New York Times this morning.

I clicked it open out of curosity because I have a few clients and friends that have chickens.

Sometimes my clients are looking for property where they can raise chickens. I could never see what the fuss was all about...untill I saw this video.

The first time I was ever around chickens in a natural setting was in Key West at a restaurant called Blue Heaven. Here the chickens and roosters just walked around free among the diners outside under ancient trees. Loved that place.

Anyway, this video reminded me of that.

Chickens as art!

Check it out... CHICKEN VIDEO

Lizette - This is a really interesting video.  I haven't ever wanted to keep roosters on my own property, but this looks like a great place to visit!  :)

I am so tempted to make a wise-as* remark about that picture---but I won't. Thanks for the interesting video!

Jason, I hadn't had the urge to either until I saw this video! Wish I lived out in the country.

Interesting video.  I love the chickens that look like they have little hats on!

Liz,

So many different kinds! I loved the video! What a beautiful place too! I am hoping that the resturant doesn't serve chicken? LOL!

Thanks for the great video. Hope sounds like such a good person. And the plants, what a wonderful idea she had. When I was very young we had chickens and that really brought me back. Thank you Lizette so much for this!

I need to move back to the country!

So nice talking to you today! Thanks for all the tips.

Very cool video Lizette. With chickens all around you it is definitely a rural feel to it. Don't know if it is for me, but some people would gravitate towards this lifestyle. Plus plenty of eggs and Sunday chicken dinner is right there in your hand.

We use to own some roosters. Sometimes we would let them (and the Hens) walk around the backyard but for the most part they stayed in their coop. We also use to live by Peacocks. Pretty birds but can be loud at times.

What a fun video!  We have chickens - many, many chickens that run all over the place.  They are fun to watch and be around.  Hawks have gotten a few of ours - interesting how she planted for their protection from hawks.
