Relocation Clients Enjoy Their Kentucky Rain

Ahhhh. what a difference a good night's sleep makes! This is a picture of the beautiful sky out front of my house this morning at 7:30A. It looked like a tic-tac-toe board!

It rained most all day yesterday.

I really do like rain...except when have a full day of showing houses to new relocation clients.

How did I get these clients?

One was from a floor call at Prudential Don Foster. The other a referral from the Rollins family that receive my weekly newsletter. They have an art gallery downtown Richmond called The Chestnut Tree Gallery.  You never know where your next client will come from.

My plan was to work with my two new sets of relocation clients and show them proprieties that suited their specific needs. We had all met the day before and discussed what might work. Financing pre-approvals were in place too.

I think I drove all over Madison County showing land and houses. The first clients from South Carolina wanted at least 5 or more acres and a house out in the country. The other clients from Wisconsin wanted to retire here and an acre with a nice house would do.

By the end of the day everyone had a good idea what was available. Soon after they get the rest of their ducks in a row they will buy a house and move in.

In and out of the rain we took a look at houses and property. We all got a good look at our Kentucky farms and houses for sale. It's always good for me to see some new listings that I haven't toured. I look forward to helping them with their move and co-ordinate the closing on their new homes. Relocation does not have to be so stressful if you have a good team around you. I'm excited for all of them and just know they will love it here!

Relocation in Central Kentucky is a good thing! Kentucky rain was a good thing too!

I've Got Double Naught Secret....Feng Shui This!!!

I was sitting around trying to decide just how I can save this year ...or at least make 2008 a better one.

I decided to be pro-active not radio-active(that requires listening to the radio for those of you that don't know).

HMmmmm...what to do? Since I'm not one to make plans or write down goals, maybe I need to look into some untraditional avenues.

Besides, they are a lot more interesting. I had read The Secret some months ago  and right before I was going on a short vacation  a few weeks ago the movie showed up in my mailbox (Thank you Blockbuster, the wait was only 6 months!). I took it with me when I made a break for the border(Tennessee).

Late one night I popped it into my computer to watch and absorb. Now, I'm on more of a quest to only think of what I want. I had made it hapeen earlier this year with a car I wanted. I know I can do it!

I've watched that movie 4 times to make sure I'm on track.

Yes...I finally will write down what I want. I already have it in mind.

Another thing that happened...I invited Monica Hess (Feng Shui goddess)over to help me figure out how to bring all the good stuff in. Feng Shui the place. She studied on it and gave me some new ideas.

Well...let me tell you, since she has been here all hell has broken loose with clients and business! Two new out of town clients showed up yesterday that want houses here. Money is no problem... dream clients.

A few other things have happened too. A deal that had hit a MAJOR snag(let me tell you it was Gigantic) is now going to close. Another client came back after a year ago and now wants a house for her daughter to go to college. Publishers are calling to see if I will write my life story. OK...now I'm babbling....(the last one hasn't happened yet). You get the idea.

It's all in my head ready to bust out. To become real. My thoughts are like the ripple effect of the stone that got dropped in my bubblebath. It's all gonna be good...I just feel the power of it all now.

2008 IS the best one yet...

Update!! I just got a call 5 seconds ago after I wrote this to list a house in a fantastic neighborhood. Don't tell me this stuff doesn't work! WooHoo!!!

Nice To Meet you! What Do You Do?

" I'm a writer", I say. Looking them straight in the eye...Not batting a false eyelash.

Suddenly, the semi-bored face at the party focuses on me for a better look.

Really? That's INTERESTING!

It's like Moses had parted the waters and people take notice. If I had said I was a Realtor I would have gotten the blank stare off in the distance as they calculate how many 100's of people they know that is a Realtor.

Suddenly, at this party I am someone who may be" famous" Shhhh!...shut your mouth!

They lean closer now...hanging on my every word.

What do you write about?

"Real estate and Central Kentucky stories on events and interesting faces and places".

Wow! That's great. Where do you write these stories?

"In a blog and on Localism", I explain

It went on longer than this but you get the point. The shift from Realtor to writer was just a slip of the tongue. Spoken to some new person that had no idea who I might be at a Christmas party. I have to admit it even surprised me. Over the years I have re-invented myself over and over. All it required was to say it and it became real. In my mind I am a writer. The new coat feels GOOD!

OHhhh...I'll still be a Realtor. I have to pay my bills. What I know is that every thought creates and I am constantly revamping and improving me. Who I choose to be. Now a writer. It sounds good to me right now...

Localism: Lexington, KY Real Estate Info - Kentucky - Kentucky Relocation

Kentucky is the place to be! I like to think of it as the land where time stands still...at least the beauty and lush surroundings. Mile after mile of black plank fencing surrounds legendary Kentucky horse farms.

I have lots of folks all over the USA contact me about Kentucky relocation. They want to know what is special about Central Kentucky, what is there to do here, what about jobs, about schools, where to board their pets(pet friendly hotels in Kentucky) and Kentucky homes for sale.

Moving to Kentucky is a lot less scary when you have a good idea of what it is all about. I spend a lot of time gathering information and putting together a Kentucky relocation packet specifically tailored to your family's needs. As a lifelong resident I'm familiar with the area. My work as a Realtor with Prudential Don Foster keeps me up to date with the housing market here around Lexington,Ky.

Each week I send out an email newsletter to keep my clients up to speed on the latest listings, what has sold and how much, mortgage rates, local events, important homeowner information and more. Most of my clients tell me that the newsletter was how they got to know me. It had been forwarded to them by others. That's always nice to hear!

I Should Walk 24 Hours In Your Shoes

What if you could trade lives with a stranger for 24 hours?

Clothes, identification, cell phone, houses, partners, jobs, family and secrets?

What would you discover about them? About yourself?

While I was having my morning coffee, I was reading an article in the New York Post about a heterosexual, 28-year-old Italian artist that traded lives for 24 hours to be gay and Greek.

It made me think about how it would work in all our communities to discover how we could help one another.

What would someone feel after being me for 24 hours? Would they feel tortured? Bored? Happy? Sad?

How would I feel after being them? Would I appreciate my life more?

Would they enjoy Chanel being demanding all day for cookies? Would they think my time online excessive? Would they enjoy showing houses to strangers? Being an extrovert?

Why are we all so different if we are all connected at soul level?

Are we really that different?

Would YOU spend a day in Someone else's shoes?

Magic Key Turns On Holiday Lights in Lexington Kentucky

The holiday freight train is rolling into Lexington KY right in the nick of time!

Last night the festivities were changed up from past celebrations for the Christmas Parade and the Celebration of Lights. They were combined and at night!  What a great idea!

Usually, the parade is in the morning at 10AM and the lighting of the tree on another day. The crowd that gathered last night got many new surprises and they stayed warm with hot chocolate and coffee supplied by many downtown restaurants.

At the center of the festivities, people crowed around fabulously decorated Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza to see Santa, Mayor Jim Newberry and his family turn a "magic key" that lit up all of the city's new holiday decor. This even included fireworks shot off the district courthouse! WoW! Click this for The Lexington Herald Leader story.

With 2 miles of garland and 2 miles of new Christmas lights Lexington city workers worked like Santa's Elves in getting it all completed in time for the parade and magic key ceremony.

I can't help but feel that everyone here in Central Kentucky is excited this year about the holidays. There is so much to be thankful for.  Richmond, KY celebrated a few nights ago with their annual Christmas Parade with Santa and it was a blast!

Santa Claus Arrives In Richmond, KY

Yes! I saw it with my own two eyes in Richmond, Kentucky! The annual Christmas parade came right down beautifully decorated Main Street last night and it was absolutely the best one yet!

I was with a party of 5 that have moved here recently and they were amazed that there were hundreds of local Madison County residents packing the streets.

The participants in the parade handed out kettle-corn, candy, balloons and souvenirs. Everywhere you looked there was a happy face.

Included in the parade were decorated vehicles of all kinds like cement trucks, huge wreckers, floats, buses and police cars. Marching Bands were playing christmas music and children were screaming with excitement!

I couldn't believe how long it lasted but it seemed for hours! Then right at the end of it all was Santa and Mrs. Claus on the back of a fire engine.

We happily made our way down the street among the vendors selling trinkets, balloons and other fun stuff. My friends and I decided to add more to our experience by walking a few blocks to Madison Gardens. We were warmly greeted at the door by Tom & Steve (The famous owners). There's nothing like their hot wings, a few beers and fabulous live music of Stan & Zack. Being here really topped off the parade and we all throughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the Gardens.

Hours later, we realized we needed to wander back up the street to the car. It was a night were you never looked at your watch and hated for it to end.

Reluctantly, but with smiles on our faces we headed home.

P.S. How does Santa get around the world in one night?
